Welcome to the World of Ayurveda
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest documented biological holistic natural alternative medicinal healing system that originated in northern India over 5,000 years ago and is still being used today by Indian people and around the globe. It includes a system of herbalism similar to traditional Chinese medicine, but offers dietary regulation, yoga and other exercises, bodywork and detoxification. it was inspired and developed by the great masters and seers of ancient India. The origins of Ayurveda play a highly complimentary role in spiritual evolution and the maintenance of physical well-being and vitality. Unlike traditional western medicine, Ayurveda is not confined to the healing of disease in a superficial treatment of symptoms. Instead it works with the complete body-mind of the individual.
"Ayurveda" is a Sanskrit word which translates to "The Science of Life" or "Knowledge of Life or daily living". And is based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress within the body and the person's consciousness. Health and wellness in a person depends on a delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit, promoting good health, rather than fighting disease. This medical system emphasises that humans came from nature, that we are an integral part of the universe and that we have a responsibility towards it.
The balance of the universe lives within us. Focusing on physical health and that It is much easier to pursue spiritual studies or to contribute to life, if you are whole and healthy.
Ayurveda emphasises more on prevention of diseases as well as maintaining a balance of the body, mind and spirit. And encourages a healthier lifestyle and natural therapies to help to bring back balance and harmony to the body and the individual's overall wellbeing and happiness.
If your mind, body, emotions, energy and spirit are in harmony with life, you have good health. When something disrupts this balance, you get sick or unwell.
What Can Upset the Balance of your Mind, Body, Emotions, Energy and Spirit?
It can be many things such as?
Genetic or Birth Defects
Injuries,
Climate,
Seasonal Changes,
Age,
Emotions,
Stress,
Life Circumstances
The five elements of nature which are: space, air, fire, water, earth all combine in the body as three components called Doshas. Which are known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
These dosas relate closely to the basic elements of nature and to a specific function of the body. The dosas that we have are determined at the time of our conception and relate to your individual physical make-up and personality.
It is considered that we all have a combination of dosha's, with one type usually being more dominate over the others.
All of my Ayurvedic treatments include a detailed assessment of health and well-being, to establish a person's Dosha type (body type). This is a unique pattern of living life force energy that controls various activities of the body.
These Dosha's (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) can become inbalanced and can cause sickness and disease.
Each treatment is targeted at rebalancing the doshas, eliminating toxins which can harm the body and it's natural flow, improve digestion as well as relieving stress and fatigue.
Some people use Ayurvedic practises to maintain health, reduce stress and improve flexibility and stamina.
'I believe everyone should receive the healing powers of Ayurveda and the herbal oils for each Dosha.
Having studied Ayurveda therapies in the Himalayas in India over 12 years ago. I have seen the true results it can bring with continued therapy. Not only with stress and balancing the doshas, but improving peoples state of mind and internal health and wellbeing."

These Dosha's (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) can become inbalanced and can cause sickness, disease and general health issues. Once the therapist knows which dosha imbalance is present in the body, the therapist will choose the appropriate dosha aromatherapy oil to be used in the treatment. The chosen oil is then heated and will remain warm throughout your massage. The music, the aroma, the heating, the lighting will all reflect your dosha needs that are present on the day of your treatment. You will then be asked to relax on the massage bed and you will receive a deeply relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage, face, chest, abdomen, arms and legs and finally the back. Using heated warm dosha aromatherapy oil relaxing strokes, pressure points (Marma points) and intuitive flowing movements that work on the skin and muscles of the body. At the end of the massage you will be covered in warm blankets, allowed to rest, allowing the oils to absorb into the skin, while a fresh herbal tea and snack is provided specifically made for your dosha is brought to you. You are then asked to take your time to come off of the massage bed, change and enjoy your tea and snack. You will also receive some dietary and lifestyle information for you to take home and read at your leisure at home, to help maintain the benefits and improve your dosha imbalances. It is highly recommended to take your time after the massage, and to avoid rushing off anywhere after your treatment, and to take the afternoon or rest of the day or evening off, if possible for you to enjoy the healing oils and the healing benefits of this deeply relaxing massage.

What Happens in a Chakra Massage Treatment:
Each session includes an assessment of your chakras and the correct organic aromatherapy chakra oil is chosen that connects with your chosen chakra and your needs for one specific chakra imbalance that may need more focus and balancing in the session.
Then you will lay face down onto the massage bed under soft blankets, and receive a relaxing Chakra Aromatherapy Back Massage. The massage is particularly focused on the three erector spine muscles and the gluteus medium.
It is a specific and slow massage with the intent of slow focused lengthening and broadening strokes to specific muscles and areas of the back, working on the connective tissue or fascia. With the intent to work with the chakra energy that flows through this connective tissue, helping to release any blockages and stagnation to the natural flow of this energy within us all.
Then you will turn over onto the bed laying on your back and receive a relaxing Indian Head Massage incorporating pressure points and Reiki healing on the head, face, neck and shoulders, while having Crystal healing using small healing and balancing crystals applied to and around your bodies chakra system.
Then the treatment will end with a relaxing and grounding chakra reflexology on your feet. Working on each of the related chakra reflex points to bring harmony and balance to your subtle energy field and system.
Leaving you feeling relaxed, a deep sense of inner healing and calm, focused and ready to book your next experience.
Each treatment is designed specifically for you as an individual, so no two chakra massages are ever the same.
After your Chakra Massage session we recommend that you rest if possible at home for the rest of the day, drink plenty of fresh water and to avoid alcohol.
Highly recommended to have a course of sessions for best results and to have this treatment regularly at least once a fortnight if possible to get the best results and longterm health and wellbeing benefits.

Yoga and Meditation are an integral part of Ayurveda. Meditation is a practice in which the person trains the mind to simply acknowledges the minds content without becoming identified with that content. It involves breathing exercises and allowing thoughts to come and go without any attachment to them.
Meditation can take you from the sympathetic (stressed out, fight or flight response) to the parasympathetic system (calm, rest and digest)
It can give you mental clarity and can help balance and control emotions.
I highly recommend Meditation to all my clients that I see daily in my Therapy room and I practice everyday also in the morning and the evening.
Meditation is an essential tool for bringing a person's mind back into balance, it is also a healing practice that allows us to experience inner calm and deep relaxation and must be practised by everyone on a regular basis. Aromatherapy oils, or essential oils, are basically plant extracts derived from roots, bark, flowers and seeds. The science behind using them to improve our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is that our sense of smell is directly connected to the part of the brain that processes emotions.
By simply smelling various essential oils (or a combination of them), our brains become stimulated and depending on the particular healing powers of the aromatic compound, we can experience a range of emotions -- from calm to energised.
Each of my Ayurvedic Dosha Oils are individually created for the bodies natural state of being to restore, balance and harmonise the most predominant dosha.
